Mon Aug 18 16:10:00 UTC 2025: **Hyderabad, India – August 18, 2025** – Tollywood actor Dharma Mahesh is facing legal trouble after his wife, Gowthami, filed a case against him and his family at the Gachibowli Police Station, alleging harassment for additional dowry.
Gowthami, a social media influencer, claims that Mahesh and his family have been demanding more dowry since his career has gained momentum. The couple, who married in 2019 after a courtship that began in 2013, jointly started a hotel franchise with Gowthami and her father’s financial support.
According to the complaint, Mahesh, known for films like “Sindhuram” and “Drinker Sai,” has become accustomed to a lavish lifestyle, allegedly spending time with other women and harassing his wife. Gowthami also accuses him of transferring the hotel franchise, which was initially funded by her, to his name.
Tired of the alleged physical and mental harassment, Gowthami approached the police. Gachibowli police have registered a case against Dharma Mahesh under various sections, including B.N.S Sections 85, 115(2), 316(2), 351(2), 352, and Section 4 of the DP Act.
Gowthami stated that she previously sought police intervention, resulting in counseling for Mahesh, but his behavior did not improve. Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
