Mon Aug 18 03:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Pokémon Legends Z-A Demo Hints at Large-Scale Zygarde Hunt

**London, UK -** A demo of the upcoming *Pokémon Legends Z-A* shown at the Pokémon World Championships has revealed exciting new details about the highly anticipated Switch 2 RPG. Players will seemingly embark on a questline to track down the Legendary Pokémon Zygarde, echoing a popular feature from *Pokémon Legends Arceus*.

The demo, showcased at the prestigious event, features players chasing Zygarde through the streets of Lumiose City, teaming up with Lucario to battle a Mega Absol. According to Nintendo, the demo highlights the game’s new real-time battle system.

While it’s not yet confirmed if the demo represents a standalone quest or part of a larger narrative, promotional materials suggest a Zygarde-focused storyline that could mirror *Legends Arceus*’ Spiritomb quest. In that game, players were tasked with collecting 108 Spiritomb Wisps scattered throughout the Hisui region to unlock the Ghost-type Pokémon.

Based on trailers, *Pokémon Legends Z-A* may feature a similar mechanic, requiring players to find Zygarde Cells hidden throughout Lumiose City. This would potentially allow players to unlock different forms of Zygarde, from its 10% Forme to its powerful Complete Forme.

“This actually makes sense as well, as the adorable Zygarde Cells were teased in multiple PLZA trailers,” explains a statement by Nintendo on X. “For example, in the July Pokémon Presents presentation, a video shows a tiny Zygarde Cell sitting on a rooftop.”

The potential “Zygarde collect-a-thon” aligns with Game Freak’s approach to the *Legends* series, where existing Pokémon story-lines are reimagined. *Pokémon Legends Arceus*, for instance, borrowed heavily from *Pokémon Diamond and Pearl*. With *Pokémon Legends Z-A* set in the Kalos region, players can expect a remix of *Pokémon X and Y*.

The demo at the Pokémon World Championships confirms that players will be pursuing Zygarde within Lumiose City. *Pokémon Legends Z-A* is slated for release in 2025.
