**Massachusetts Hiker Rescued After Fall on Mount Pierce**
**WHITE MOUNTAINS, NH** – A hiker from Braintree, Massachusetts, was rescued Saturday afternoon after falling an estimated 50-100 feet on Mount Pierce in the White Mountains. New Hampshire Fish and Game received a distress call around 3:30 p.m. reporting the incident, which occurred near a scenic overlook along Crawford Path, approximately 0.6 miles up a spur trail.
The hiker, whose name has not been released, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A coordinated rescue effort was launched, involving the Androscoggin Valley Search and Rescue Team, Twin Mountain Fire and Rescue, and Mountain Rescue. Volunteers successfully carried the injured hiker down the mountain to a waiting ambulance by 7:10 p.m.
The hiker was subsequently transported to Littleton Regional Hospital for treatment.
New Hampshire Fish and Game is reminding hikers to exercise caution and be aware of trail conditions, especially near steep drop-offs.
