Tue Aug 05 06:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Cathay Pacific Resumes Flights to Brussels, Expanding European Network
**Hong Kong/Brussels – August 4, 2024** – Cathay Pacific has officially relaunched its four-times-weekly direct flights between Hong Kong and Brussels, marking its return to the Belgian capital after a hiatus. The inaugural flight arrived yesterday, August 3rd, reconnecting Hong Kong with the “Heart of Europe” and providing travelers with enhanced travel options and convenience.
The move is part of Cathay Pacific’s broader strategy to expand its European network. The airline is now operating nearly 100 return flights per week between Hong Kong and Europe during the peak summer season, a testament to the growing demand for travel between the two regions. Besides Brussels, Cathay Pacific has also recently introduced new services to Rome and Munich this year. They also have increased frequencies to other major European cities, including London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Manchester, Milan, Paris, Zurich, Barcelona, Madrid, and Rome.
“We are very pleased to be back in Brussels, directly connecting our home hub with one of Europe’s major political centres and a tourism destination that’s steeped in history and culture,” said Lavinia Lau, Cathay Chief Customer and Commercial Officer. Lau emphasized the convenient flight timings that allow passengers to arrive refreshed and ready for a full day in either Brussels or Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong-Brussels route is serviced by the airline’s modern Airbus A350-900 aircraft, offering passengers a comfortable travel experience with fully flat beds in Business class, spacious Premium Economy seats, and award-winning Economy class seating. All passengers can enjoy access to world-class inflight entertainment and high-speed Wi-Fi, with complimentary access for Business class passengers and Cathay Diamond members.
Passengers traveling through Hong Kong International Airport can also leverage seamless connections with Cathay Pacific’s low-cost carrier, HK Express, reaching over 100 destinations worldwide, including 23 in mainland China. The airline also offers intermodal services via the SkyPier Terminal, facilitating connections to cities within the Greater Bay Area.
The increased passenger capacity also benefits cargo customers, supplementing Cathay Cargo’s existing seven weekly freighter flights between Hong Kong and Europe.
