**Bubba Wallace Makes History, First Black Driver to Win Brickyard 400**

**Indianapolis, IN -** Bubba Wallace etched his name in racing history Sunday, becoming the first Black driver to conquer the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval at the Brickyard 400. Overcoming a rain delay, two nail-biting overtimes, and a fierce challenge from defending champion Kyle Larson, Wallace piloted his No. 23 car to a momentous victory.

The 31-year-old Wallace held off Larson by a mere 0.222 seconds after a final restart. The win marks Wallace’s third career NASCAR Cup victory and his first in one of NASCAR’s crown jewel events, securing his place in the playoffs and snapping a 100-race winless streak.

“This one’s really cool,” Wallace exclaimed after the race, lifting his son into the air in celebration. He described his thoughts during the race “Coming off Turn 4, I knew I was going to get there — unless we ran out of gas.”

The victory is particularly significant for 23XI Racing, co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin, as the team continues to navigate a dispute with NASCAR over its charter status. Wallace’s historic win provides a major boost to the team.

The inaugural In-Season Challenge also concluded, with Ty Gibbs taking home the $1 million prize. He decided to throw the money in the air to the fans.
