**SEATTLE, WA** – In a back-and-forth battle for the ages, the Los Angeles Sparks edged out the Seattle Storm 108-106 in a double-overtime thriller on Friday night. The game, which featured 14 lead changes and 12 ties, marked the first double-overtime contest of the WNBA season and saw the Sparks achieve several season highs, including points (108), field goals made (41), and rebounds (46).

The victory snapped a five-game losing streak for the Sparks against the Storm and gave Los Angeles their league-leading ninth road win of the year. The Sparks also made franchise history with four players scoring 20 or more points, a feat only achieved five times in WNBA history.

Rickea Jackson led the charge for the Sparks with a team-high 27 points and a season-best nine rebounds. Jackson’s clutch performance, including back-to-back baskets to force overtime, showcased her rising star potential. Dearica Hamby contributed a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds, tying her for 28th on the WNBA’s all-time list with 51 career double-doubles. Azurá Stevens also poured in 21 points and matched her career high with five assists. Kelsey Plum paced the Storm with 22 points.

Coach Lynne Roberts praised her team’s road performance, stating, “We are able to eliminate distractions on the road. It’s very much the collective, all-for-one, one-for-all mentality.”

The Sparks dominated the paint, outscoring the Storm 60-50, and also excelled in transition with a 19-8 advantage in fast-break points, contributing to their impressive offensive output.

Looking ahead, the Sparks return to Los Angeles for a two-game homestand, facing the Indiana Fever on Tuesday, August 5th, and the Connecticut Sun on Thursday, August 7th.
