**LADWP Offers Free Recycled Water to Combat Drought**

**Los Angeles, CA** – In an effort to conserve precious water resources during the ongoing drought, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is providing free recycled water to its customers for use on lawns and gardens.

The program allows LADWP customers to pick up treated and disinfected wastewater as an alternative to using potable water for irrigation. To participate, residents must bring a LADWP bill and a government-issued ID to the designated pickup location. After completing a short training session, participants can receive up to 300 gallons of recycled water per visit, provided they bring their own water-tight containers.

Currently, the program is available at the Los Angeles-Glendale location, open every Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. According to LADWP spokesperson Renee Vazquez, the location will remain open through December 31st. Should demand increase, the utility may consider opening additional sites in the future.

“This is a great opportunity for our customers to contribute to water conservation efforts while keeping their landscapes healthy,” said Vazquez. “Recycled water is a safe and effective way to reduce our reliance on traditional water sources during this critical time.”

LAist, a service of Southern California Public Radio, encourages residents to take advantage of this program. More information, including container suggestions, can be found on the LADWP website.
