Sun Aug 03 03:50:00 UTC 2025: **Headline: Animated “Alice in Wonderland” Reimagining Set to Debut Amidst “Demon Slayer” Hype**
As the animated film “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training” continues its box office success, a diverse slate of animated movies is set to hit Japanese theaters in August. More than half are original works, not connected to existing TV anime series. Among them is “Alice in Wonderland -Dive in Wonderland-,” a new adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s classic novel.
Produced by the acclaimed studio P.A.WORKS, the film promises a fresh take on the beloved tale. The story follows Rise Azumino, a struggling college student facing job-hunting woes. Guided by an invitation left by her late grandmother, Rise enters Wonderland and embarks on a journey with Alice. Together, they navigate the whimsical world, encountering bizarre characters and chaotic adventures.
The film explores how Wonderland’s encounters will change Rise’s future and what “important thing” she will realize. With a talented staff, including director Toshiya Shinohara and character designers Kou Kawanami and Mio Fujishima, the movie boasts stunning visuals and a soundtrack by Kotringo. “Dive in Wonderland-” features a star-studded voice cast, including Nanoka Hara and Maika Pyu and a theme song by SEKAI NO OWARI.
Also premiering is a theatrical version of the short anime “Odekake Kozame,” offering audiences a glimpse into the urban adventures of a cute baby shark.
