Sun Aug 03 03:50:00 UTC 2025: ## New Anime Film “AS ONE” Featuring JO1’s Ruki Shiroiwa to Hit Theaters in 2025

**Tokyo, Japan** – GAGA is set to release the animated feature film “AS ONE” on August 22, 2025. The film boasts an impressive creative team, including director Kobun Shizuno, known for his work on the “Detective Conan” film series, and character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, famed for his work on “Neon Genesis Evangelion” and “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.” Mecha design is handled by Ippei Gyoubu, known for “Gundam Reconguista in G.”

“AS ONE” is based on the arcade game “Starwing Paradox” but features a completely original story, developed by Shizuno and the writing team, while maintaining the original setting and world.

Global boy group JO1’s Ruki Shiroiwa takes on the lead voice acting role as Yo, a high school student and aspiring musician struggling with his future. Haruka Shiraishi voices Rako, a robot mechanic living on the space-based “Meguriboshi” (Wandering Star). The cast also includes Shunsuke Takeuchi, Yoko Hikasa, and Ryohei Maruyama of SUPER EIGHT, making his voice acting debut.

Shiroiwa not only voices the main character but also wrote and composed the film’s theme song, “Meguriboshi.”

The production team was inspired to cast Shiroiwa after hearing his self-produced song “Himawari,” feeling it perfectly captured the character of Yo.

A special premiere event featuring Shiroiwa, Shiraishi, Hikasa, and screenwriter Shatner Nishida is scheduled for August 13th at Hulic Hall Tokyo.

“AS ONE” tells the story of Yo, a musician struggling with his future, and Rako, a robot mechanic from space, as their paths intertwine. When Yo hears a voice calling for help in Shibuya, he’s enveloped in light and meets Rako in her unconsciousness. The film explores the meaning of their encounter and the fate that awaits them.
