Surat, India – A teacher in Dindoli, Surat, has tragically killed his two children and then taken his own life, police confirmed Monday. The incident is believed to be linked to the man’s suspicion of his wife having an affair.
Alpeshbhai Kantibhai Solanki, 41, was found dead at his home after his wife, a clerk at the Zila panchayat office, was unable to reach him and went to the residence with relatives. After breaking down the door, they discovered Alpeshbhai deceased alongside his two children, aged 7 and 2.
“The children were found on the bed, and Alpeshbhai was found dead nearby,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vijay Singh Gurjar.
Authorities recovered a suicide note, two diaries, and videos from Solanki’s mobile phone. According to Alpeshbhai’s brother, the suicide was a result of the immense stress caused by his wife, Phalguni bhai’s, alleged affair with Naresh Kumar Rathod. He filed a complaint with the police against his brother’s wife.
“He was in great stress because of the affair, and he died by suicide because of it,” the brother told the cops.
The suicide note and diaries reportedly contain details of the man’s distress and were addressed to his parents and wife, with one diary dedicated solely to the wife, outlining specific details of the alleged affair. Police have confirmed the couple had frequent arguments related to the matter. Both Phalguni bhai and Naresh Kumar Rathod have been arrested and investigations are on-going.
