**Secunderabad’s Sangeet Junction Gripped by Perpetual Traffic Congestion**
**HYDERABAD, August 2, 2025** – Commuters in Secunderabad are facing increasingly severe traffic congestion at Sangeet Junction, transforming what was once a familiar landmark into a daily bottleneck. The junction, named after the now-defunct Sangeet Theatre, has become a focal point for traffic from across East Hyderabad, including areas like Uppal, LB Nagar, and Tarnaka.
“Sangeet junction doesn’t wait for peak hour, it becomes it,” a local reported. The situation intensifies by mid-afternoon as school buses, public transportation, and office-goers converge, bringing traffic to a near standstill.
The heavy traffic volume, particularly from the Tarnaka-Allagaddabavi side, is a primary cause, with commuters from Vijayawada and Jangaon highways also contributing to the gridlock. “There are no traffic jams in the usual sense. But when you have this many vehicles funnelled into one junction, delays are inevitable,” a Gopalapuram Traffic officer stated.
The presence of numerous schools and colleges exacerbates the problem during peak dispersal hours. Compounding matters, a recent drainage repair and spillover from the Allagaddabavi stretch during rains added to the chaos. Signal timings are reportedly insufficient to manage the vehicle flow.
Residents note a significant decline in traffic conditions compared to just five years ago, with “off-peak” hours now a distant memory. The unpredictability of delays, caused by obstructions like lorries or clogged free left lanes, has become a major frustration for commuters.
Online, some citizens are advocating for simple solutions like flyovers to alleviate the congestion. “A basic flyover at Jubilee Hills Check Post, DLF-IDBI junction, and at Sangeet would change life in these places. It’s not rocket science,” one user posted.
Until a solution is implemented, Sangeet Junction remains a congested but culturally significant landmark, symbolizing the growing traffic challenges facing Hyderabad.
