**Varanasi, August 2nd, 2024** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to release the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme today, August 2nd, from his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi. This release will transfer ₹2,000 directly into the accounts of approximately 9.7 crore farmers across the nation.

The Prime Minister’s program in Varanasi, scheduled to begin at 11 AM, will include the inauguration and groundbreaking of various development projects, alongside the release of the PM-KISAN installment.

**Scheme Overview:**

The government has disbursed ₹3.69 lakh crore to farmers in the previous 19 installments. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers across the country.
