**PCB Denounces ‘Malicious’ Rumors of Afridi-Salman Altercation, Threatens Legal Action**
**Florida, USA –** The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has vehemently denied reports circulating on social media alleging a heated confrontation between fast bowler Shaheen Afridi and white-ball captain Agha Salman during a training session ahead of their series against the West Indies.
Social media was abuzz with unsubstantiated claims of an argument between the two, fueled by Afridi’s recent return to the white-ball squad after a period of absence.
In a strongly worded statement released earlier today, the PCB labelled the allegations “baseless, fabricated, and defamatory.” “The PCB affirms that no such incident has occurred at any point during training or practice sessions. These malicious rumours are entirely fictitious and appear to have been deliberately concocted with clear malafide intent to sow discord within the national squad,” the statement read.
The board further condemned the misinformation as “a calculated and reprehensible attempt to undermine the cohesion, morale, and reputation of the Pakistan national team” and characterized it as a “serious and premeditated defamation campaign.”
The PCB announced its intention to pursue legal action against individuals spreading the rumours, accusing them of committing defamation and cybercrime offenses. They affirmed commitment to protect players, staff and the sanctity of the team.
Shaheen Afridi returns to the side following a stellar performance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he captained the Lahore Qalandars to victory and topped the wicket-takers’ chart. Pakistan is looking to rebound after a recent T20I series loss in Bangladesh.
Pakistan is set to face the West Indies later today at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Florida.
