Fri Aug 01 13:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Timberwolves Sign Free Agent Guard Johnny Juzang to One-Year Deal
**Minneapolis, MN** – The Minnesota Timberwolves have added depth to their backcourt, agreeing to a one-year contract with free agent guard Johnny Juzang, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
While details of the contract haven’t been officially released, it is widely expected to be a non-guaranteed, minimum-salary deal. According to Chris Hine of The Star Tribune, Juzang will have the opportunity to compete in training camp for a coveted spot on the Timberwolves’ 15-man roster or a two-way contract.
Juzang, 24, went undrafted out of UCLA in 2022 and subsequently spent the past three seasons with the Utah Jazz. After two seasons on two-way contracts, he earned a standard contract last season, averaging 8.9 points and 2.9 rebounds in 64 games while shooting a solid .429 from the field and .376 from three-point range. However, he struggled defensively, contributing to the Jazz’s league-worst defensive rating.
Despite signing a four-year deal with the Jazz last year, he was waived in June before his salary for the 2024-25 season became fully guaranteed.
The Timberwolves currently have 13 players on standard guaranteed contracts and two on two-way deals. The addition of Juzang brings their offseason roster to 16 players, and they still hold a two-way qualifying offer for Tristen Newton. Juzang will look to impress during training camp and prove his worth in the Timberwolves’ rotation.
