KOCHI: Popular Malayalam actor and comedian Kalabhavan Navas has died at the age of 51. He was found unresponsive in his hotel room in Chottanikkara late Friday night. Navas was in the area for the shooting of his upcoming film, “Prakampanam.”
Sources indicate the cause of death was a heart attack. He was found by hotel staff after he failed to emerge from his room after returning from the film’s final day of shooting.
Navas began his career as a mimicry artist, gaining prominence with the renowned Kalabhavan troupe. Alongside his brother Niyas Backer, he also founded the Cochin Arts troupe.
