Mon Jul 28 19:05:40 UTC 2025: ## Delhi University Releases Second Admission List, Cracks Down on Ragging

**NEW DELHI, July 29, 2025** – Delhi University (DU) has announced its second list of seat allocations for undergraduate programs, offering admission to 24,843 new applicants. This brings the total number of allocations made across the first two rounds to 87,335, exceeding the 71,624 seats available. University officials stated that over-allocation was intentional to account for potential students who may decline their offers.

Applicants must accept their allocated seats by July 30th and pay fees by August 1st, the scheduled start date of the new academic session. Further admission lists may be released depending on seat availability.

In parallel with the admissions process, DU is taking stringent measures to prevent ragging on campus. The Proctorial Board met recently to establish guidelines with penalties ranging from suspension to expulsion, including cancellation of degrees and withholding of results.

All students, hostel residents, and their parents/guardians are required to submit an undertaking via the UGC anti-ragging web portal, affirming their commitment to a ragging-free environment. Colleges, centers, and hostels are instructed to restrict access to outsiders and prominently display anti-ragging rules.

University officials are collaborating with the Delhi Police, who assured increased campus patrols, including plainclothes female officers, to address any incidents of ragging or eve-teasing. Two control rooms have been established to handle complaints, and students can report concerns through designated complaint boxes, the anti-ragging helpline, or directly to the university control rooms.

The university emphasized its commitment to a safe and welcoming environment for all new students.
