Sat Jul 26 11:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Davenport’s Bix 7 Postponed Due to Weather Concerns
**DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) -** The 51st Quad-City Times Bix 7 road race, scheduled for Saturday morning, has been postponed until 9 a.m. due to the potential for severe weather, including heavy rain, lightning, and a flash flood watch.
Bix officials announced the delay, emphasizing the safety of participants, volunteers, and the community as the top priority. “We are actively monitoring the forecast for Saturday morning’s race with support from the National Weather Service and local authorities,” organizers stated. Runners are encouraged to follow social media channels and KWQC TV6 for further updates.
Despite the weather concerns, excitement remains high for the iconic seven-mile race, which starts at the base of Brady Street Hill and features live bands and cheering crowds along the route. This year, local runners Dylan Moeller and Carter Richter, recent graduates of Davenport Central High School, will attempt to “Beat the Elite Runners” for a $2,500 prize from the Russell Group, the event’s new sponsor.
Also taking place is the Prairie Farms Quick Bix, a two-mile fun run/walk up Brady Street Hill, starting simultaneously with the Bix 7. Participants can decide which route they prefer on race day.
The Bix 7 weekend kicked off Thursday night with the Brady Street Sprints. Stay tuned to KWQC for results and highlights.
