**Hyderabad, India – July 25, 2025 -** A woman is in critical condition after a speeding goods carrier slammed into a car near the Gaganpahad flyover entry ramp early Friday morning. The accident, reported at approximately 2:30 a.m. IST, involved a family of three returning to Hyderabad from the airport.
According to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) police, the car, carrying 35-year-old Pushpalatha, 13-year-old Advitha, and 60-year-old Krishna Kumar, was approaching the flyover when it was struck from behind by the goods carrier. Pushpalatha sustained severe head injuries and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Advitha and Krishna Kumar suffered only minor injuries.
Police suspect that the driver of the goods vehicle lost control on a narrowed stretch of road near a pedestrian crossing, leading to the collision. “We suspect the driver of the goods vehicle lost control on the constricted stretch and collided with the car,” an RGIA police officer stated.
The driver of the goods carrier has been taken into custody and a case has been registered. Further investigation is currently underway.
