**HYDERABAD, July 24, 2025** – A joint operation by the Government Railway Police (GRP) Secunderabad, the EAGLE Team, and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) led to the arrest of two individuals at Secunderabad railway station on Thursday for transporting drugs valued at ₹6.24 lakh.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Shaik Khathun Bee, 58, a farm labourer from Kumuram Bheem district, and Ganesh Jena, 42, a labourer from Jajpur, Odisha, currently residing in Cherlapally. They were apprehended while awaiting contact with the contraband on platform 1 after arriving from Brahmapur, Odisha, on the Konark Express.
Authorities seized 12.062 kilograms of dry ganja and 420 grams of ganja-laced chocolates.
According to police investigations, the pair were acting on instructions from A. Prem and A. Vasanth Nayak, two drug peddlers from Telangana who are currently at large. Shaik Khathun Bee is not new to the narcotics scene, having been arrested previously in 2016 and 2020 for similar offenses.
The investigation revealed that the pair had travelled to Brahmapur on July 19th and received the ganja bags from an unidentified individual on July 22nd.
A case has been registered, and further investigations are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.
