Wed Jul 23 18:59:20 UTC 2025: **Haryana Pacer Anshul Kamboj Draws Comparisons to Bumrah and Zaheer Khan Ahead of Potential Test Debut**

Manchester, UK – Young Haryana fast bowler Anshul Kamboj is generating buzz ahead of the 4th Test against England, with veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin drawing comparisons between him and pace legends Zaheer Khan and Jasprit Bumrah. Kamboj was added to the squad after injuries sidelined Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh.

While some have suggested Prasidh Krishna as the preferred choice, Ashwin, who played alongside Kamboj for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, strongly advocated for Kamboj’s inclusion. In a video on his YouTube channel, Ashwin praised Kamboj’s ability to understand and execute bowling plans, a rare trait he believes is shared by only a few, including Zaheer Khan and Jasprit Bumrah.

“Anshul understands plans and also knows how to execute in the middle. It’s not a trait many fast bowlers possess,” Ashwin stated, emphasizing Kamboj’s first-class form and suitability for bowling long spells in England conditions.

Ashwin acknowledged that Kamboj’s skills are unique, but highlighted similarities in their approach and awareness in executing plans. The experienced spinner believes Kamboj could be an excellent foil for Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah, potentially forming a formidable bowling attack. The Test is looming and all eyes will be on the Haryana Pacer.
