**Russian Passenger Plane Crash in Amur Region Claims 49 Lives**

**Tynda, Russia** – A devastating plane crash in the eastern Amur region of Russia has claimed the lives of all 49 people on board, including 43 passengers (five of whom were children) and six crew members. The Siberia-based Angara Airlines An-24 aircraft crashed on approach to Tynda, a town in the Amur region bordering China, after disappearing from radar screens on Thursday.

The plane, en route from Blagoveshchensk, was located by a Russian civil aviation helicopter. The wreckage was found burning on a hillside approximately 16 kilometers (10 miles) from Tynda.

According to preliminary reports from the state-owned news agency TASS, citing initial observations, “crew error during landing due to poor visibility” is being considered a potential cause of the crash.

Regional Governor Vasily Orlov confirmed the tragedy and stated that all necessary resources have been deployed to the scene. The Russian emergencies ministry initially reported a slightly lower number of passengers, estimating around 40 people on board.

The ill-fated aircraft, identified by its tail number, was a Soviet-era plane built in 1976, making it nearly 50 years old. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
