**Mandya Zilla Panchayat CEO Calls for Sustainable Development in Gram Panchayats**

**MYSURU, July 24, 2025** – Mandya Zilla Panchayat CEO K.R. Nandini today challenged elected representatives and officials of gram panchayats in the Mandya district to pledge themselves to sustainable development. Speaking at the inauguration of the Panchayat Progress Index 2.0 training workshop held at the Zilla Panchayat, Nandini stressed the importance of holistic development for the efficiency and progress of gram panchayats.

She highlighted the vision of gram panchayats that are poverty-free, healthy, women-friendly, child-friendly, socially secure, and equipped with essential facilities, achieved through collaboration with departments across agriculture, horticulture, health, and education.

“A gram panchayat that meets the targets in all nine areas under the Panchayat Progress Index 2.0 will serve as a model for others,” Nandini stated. “Every GP must strive to achieve these parameters and set an example.”

Nandini instructed Panchayat Development Officers to seek cooperation from elected representatives, other departments, and the public to achieve these goals.

The workshop aimed to educate participants on data entry for the Panchayat Progress Index 2.0. Jalendra Shetty, President of Kadur Gram Panchayat and Assistant Director (Panchayat Raj) of Brahmavar taluk, Udupi district, shared their experiences on achieving the goals of the Progress Index.

The workshop was attended by ZP Chief Planning Officer Dhanush, Deputy Secretary Dhanaraj, Chief Accounts Officer Srinivas Nayak, President and Vice-President of the Federation of Gram Panchayat Elected Representatives, district-level officers, and representatives from various taluk and gram panchayats.
