**Enforcement Directorate Busts Multi-Crore Tech Support Scam Operating from Chandigarh**

**Chandigarh, July 24, 2025** – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted raids on several call centres in and around Chandigarh suspected of defrauding foreigners through fake tech support services. The raids, which took place late Wednesday night and into Thursday morning, targeted facilities in Chandigarh, Mohali (Punjab), and Panchkula (Haryana). The ED is investigating the case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Sources within the ED claim the call centres were operating under the guise of providing technical assistance to unsuspecting foreign victims. In reality, they were allegedly peddling non-existent services and siphoning funds through complex channels. Investigations reveal the businesses used partner companies abroad, routing fraudulent proceeds through payment gateways and transferring them to India via banking channels and the Hawala system.

The companies presented themselves as providers of legitimate IT services, such as web design and fixed wireless internet. However, the ED investigation revealed a lack of verifiable information about their management and employees, coupled with misleading imagery used on their websites. The ED further noted that employees lacked proper training and the facilities lacked the hallmarks of legitimate BPO operations, suggesting a clandestine operation.

One call center, FSAL Technologies, was found to be operating a fake facility with a linked US-based company named Bios Tech. This company falsely claimed to offer tech support for major brands like Microsoft and HP. Further scrutiny revealed that FSAL Technologies was hosting a website with a similar name to a well-known American tech support company, Geek Squad. Other facilities, Terrasparq and Visionaire, were also raided, with authorities alleging the scam has been ongoing since 2016.

The investigation is ongoing, and the ED is continuing to analyze call transcripts and web platforms to fully uncover the extent of the fraudulent activities.
