**RAGBRAI Rolls into Cedar Falls: Expect Road Closures and Festivities**

CEDAR FALLS, IA – Thousands of cyclists participating in RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) are expected to descend upon Cedar Falls on Monday, July 24th, bringing with them significant road closures and detours throughout the downtown area.

Road closures will begin as early as 5:00 AM on Monday and remain in effect until noon on Tuesday, July 25th, as the cycling caravan continues its trek across the state.

“From Sixth Street to First Street, Main Street will be a hard close,” explained Police Chief Mark Howard. He further detailed, “From State Street to Washington, Washington will be a soft close just from Sixth down to Third. From Third on, Washington is closed all the way to First Street also.”

Chief Howard emphasized public safety as a top priority, deploying officers to strategic intersections and stationing a mobile medical unit to address potential health concerns related to the expected heat. He also noted the possibility of inclement weather and urged residents and visitors to exercise caution.

Despite the traffic disruptions, the city is embracing the arrival of RAGBRAI with a full slate of planned activities, including a concert kicking off at noon on Monday.

“We have a great night planned,” Chief Howard stated. “I hope everybody enjoys it and be safe.”

Residents are advised to plan their commutes accordingly and take advantage of alternate routes. The city encourages everyone to come out, enjoy the festivities, and welcome the RAGBRAI riders to Cedar Falls.
