**Schauffele’s Claret Jug Has No Home with Trophy-Averse Champ**

PORTRUSH, Northern Ireland – Xander Schauffele arrived at Royal Portrush this week to defend his Open Championship title, but the coveted Claret Jug wasn’t headed home with him. The champion admitted that he wouldn’t know where to put the trophy as his parents are responsible for keeping all of his trophies in a secure place. Schauffele and his wife, Maya Lowe, maintain a modest lifestyle, prioritizing the next challenge over basking in past glories. The golfer admitted that he would find no joy in displaying trophies, as he was raised to not think highly of oneself.
