**New Delhi:** The wait for the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) scheme may soon be over. After months of anticipation, farmers could see ₹2,000 credited to their accounts as early as today, July 19th, or tomorrow, July 20th, according to sources cited by Business Standard. While an official confirmation is still pending, government sources indicate the installment is in its final processing stage.
Earlier reports suggested Prime Minister Narendra Modi would release the installment during a large event in Bihar on July 18th, but this did not materialize.
The Agriculture Ministry has urged farmers to ensure their eligibility and avoid delays by completing several crucial steps. These include completing e-KYC on the PM Kisan portal, linking their Aadhaar card with their bank account, verifying their bank details (IFSC code, account number), resolving any land-related disputes, checking their name on the beneficiary list on the pmkisan.gov.in website’s ‘Dashboard’ section, and ensuring their mobile number is active and updated on the portal.
The PM Kisan scheme, launched in 2019, provides eligible farmers with ₹6,000 annually, distributed in three installments of ₹2,000 every four months. The scheme aims to support farmers with their agricultural expenses and household needs. Farmers are advised to complete the necessary steps to ensure timely receipt of the 20th installment.
