Sat Jul 19 02:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Lena Dunham’s New Netflix Series “Too Much” Draws Inspiration From Her Own Love Story

**London, UK** – Lena Dunham is back with a new Netflix series, “Too Much,” a dramedy exploring heartbreak, self-discovery, and finding love again. The show, starring Megan Stalter as Jessica, a New Yorker who relocates to London after a tough breakup and finds an unexpected connection with a musician named Felix, played by Will Sharpe.

While Dunham, known for her semi-autobiographical work, acknowledges the similarities between “Too Much” and her own life, she emphasizes that it’s not a direct retelling of her romance with her husband and series co-creator, musician Luis Felber. Dunham relocated to London in 2021 and met Felber shortly after, marrying him just eight months later. Felber also has a small cameo in the series, and primarily worked as co-creator, music producer and composer.

The show’s themes resonate with Dunham’s personal journey of finding love when she least expected it. However, she maintains that “Too Much” is its own story, infused with elements of her life but not strictly “based on a true story.”

Interestingly, much of the cast also boasts enviable romantic stories. Sharpe has been married to actress Sophia Di Martino for over 15 years. Rita Wilson, who plays Jessica’s mother, Lois, has been married to Tom Hanks for over three decades. Meanwhile Michael Zegen, who plays Jessica’s ex-boyfriend of seven years, married Broadway actress Jennifer Damiano last year. Emily Ratajkowski is not currently in a relationship and prioritizes motherhood over romantic connections.

“Too Much” promises a relatable and humorous exploration of modern relationships, set against the backdrop of London, with Dunham’s signature wit and honesty. The series is currently streaming on Netflix.
