**Jammu, July 19, 2025:** A fresh batch of 6,365 pilgrims, including 1,499 women, 441 children, and 135 sadhus and sadhvis, departed from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu on Saturday to join the ongoing Amarnath Yatra. The annual pilgrimage to the 3,880-meter high cave shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas has already seen over 2.75 lakh pilgrims pay their respects.

Officials reported that the pilgrims left in separate convoys under tight security arrangements early in the morning, headed towards the twin base camps of Nunwan-Pahalgam in Anantnag and Baltal in Ganderbal. A convoy of 119 vehicles carrying 3,514 pilgrims opted for the Pahalgam route, while 2,851 pilgrims in 92 vehicles chose the Baltal route.

This latest departure follows a fresh batch of over 7,900 pilgrims leaving Jammu after a one-day suspension, ensuring the steady continuation of the Yatra. The 38-day pilgrimage, which commenced on July 3, is scheduled to conclude on August 9, coinciding with the Raksha Bandhan festival.

The Amarnath Yatra is a significant religious event, attracting devotees from across India to the cave shrine housing a naturally formed Shivlingam. Security measures remain high to ensure the safety and well-being of the pilgrims throughout the duration of the Yatra. The Budha Amarnath Yatra is also scheduled to begin on July 28.
