**Carnival Cruise Line Doubles Down on New Orleans, Bringing Larger Ship and Extended Itineraries**

New Orleans, LA – Carnival Cruise Line is strengthening its commitment to the Crescent City, announcing plans to base the Carnival Liberty in New Orleans starting in Spring 2024 and bringing the larger Carnival Dream back to the city in May 2027. This announcement comes as Carnival prepares to launch its new exclusive Bahamas destination, Celebration Key, this weekend, with the Carnival Liberty setting sail from the Port of New Orleans on Sunday for its inaugural voyage to the resort.

Celebration Key, located on Grand Bahama, boasts 65 acres of attractions including white sand beaches, family-friendly games, a massive swim-up bar, a Bahamian artisan market, and an adults-only club.

The return of the Carnival Dream, which can accommodate 4,600 guests, marks its first time in New Orleans since 2019. The Dream will offer four- and five-day voyages to Mexico, adding significant capacity and tourism revenue for the city.

“More capacity with a larger ship means more tourism activity for Port NOLA and the region, where we’ve enjoyed a successful partnership for over three decades,” stated Carnival President Christine Duffy.

Carnival Liberty will continue offering its popular seven-day Western Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries through April 2028, including stops at Celebration Key, Key West, Nassau, Cozumel, Belize, Grand Cayman, and Isla Tropicale.

Passengers can find information on recently announced trips on Carnival’s website.
