**New York Times Launches “Connections: Sports Edition” for Sports Fanatics**
**NEW YORK, NY** – The New York Times has expanded its popular word game offerings with the launch of “Connections: Sports Edition,” a new daily puzzle designed to test the knowledge of sports enthusiasts. In partnership with The Athletic, the NYT’s sports news website, this version challenges players to identify common threads between words related to the world of sports.
Like the original “Connections,” players must group four words that share a common connection. The game presents 16 words, divided into four categories of varying difficulty, color-coded from yellow (easiest) to purple (hardest). Players have four attempts to correctly identify all four words in a category. Successful groupings eliminate those words from the board, while incorrect guesses count against their remaining attempts.
The game offers a shuffle feature to help players rearrange the board and discover connections. After each puzzle, players can share their results to social media, similar to Wordle.
“Connections: Sports Edition” can be accessed on web browsers and mobile devices. A new puzzle is released daily after midnight, increasing in difficulty. For players needing assistance, hints and strategies are available.
