**New York Times Launches “Connections: Sports Edition” for Trivia-Loving Fans**

NEW YORK, NY – The New York Times has released a new version of its popular word puzzle game, Connections, tailored specifically for sports enthusiasts. “Connections: Sports Edition,” developed in association with The Athletic, challenges players to identify the common threads between 16 sports-related words, grouping them into four distinct categories.

Like the original Connections and the wildly popular Wordle, the Sports Edition presents a fresh puzzle daily, resetting at midnight. Players get four attempts to correctly identify all four words within each category. Guess incorrectly, and it counts as a mistake, players get up to four mistakes before the game ends. The game also allows users to shuffle the word arrangement to aid in problem-solving.

Categories are color-coded for difficulty, ranging from yellow (easiest) to purple (most challenging). Players can share their results on social media, mirroring the Wordle craze.

Today’s solution to Connections Sports Edition #297 is:

* **Yellow: Cincinnati teams, minus the S:** BEARCAT, BENGAL, MUSKETEER, RED
* **Green: Sailing terms:** HULL, KEEL, MAST, RUDDER
* **Blue: Members of the Indiana Fever:** BOSTON, CLARK, HOWARD, MITCHELL
* **Purple: Royal Open Championship venues:** BIRKDALE, LIVERPOOL, PORTRUSH, ST. GEORGE’S

“Connections: Sports Edition” is available on web browsers and mobile devices.
