**Kevin Holland Aims to Shatter UFC Record with Ambitious Fight Schedule**
**NEW ORLEANS, LA** – Welterweight contender Kevin “Trailblazer” Holland is setting his sights on breaking the UFC record for most fights in a calendar year. Fresh off a stellar 2020 where he secured five victories, earning him Fighter of the Year honors from MMA Junkie, Holland is confident he can surpass that mark.
Currently preparing for his upcoming bout against Daniel Rodriguez at UFC 318 in New Orleans, Holland is already looking beyond this weekend. “I’ve got to do seven just to go ahead and top the record,” Holland stated at Wednesday’s media day. “We’re four down. I think we’re getting Neil Magny after this one.”
Holland has a clear vision for the remainder of 2024. He hopes to fight around Noche UFC to take advantage of sponsorship opportunities in Texas. Ideally, he’d like to secure one more fight before Thanksgiving and another right before Christmas.
Even with a potentially historic year, Holland isn’t focused on chasing the welterweight title just yet. He has his sights set on a future matchup with Colby Covington. He also took a jab at Paddy Pimblett, hinting at a potential fight down a weight class that never materialized.
UFC 318 takes place this Saturday at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. Holland vs. Rodriguez is featured on the main card, airing on pay-per-view, ESPN, and ESPN+.
