**JFK’s New Terminal One to Showcase New York’s Best with Local Business Partnerships**
**New York, NY – July 17, 2025** – The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PNYNJ), New Terminal One (NTO), and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) Airports are partnering with WHSmith North America to bring a taste of New York City to travelers at the highly anticipated New Terminal One at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
Three graduates of the Port Authority’s Institute of Concessions (IOC) will join the WHSmith North America team to deliver an 8,400 square feet retail experience featuring curated travel essentials and local goods. The program includes six unique retail spaces – many open 24/7 – offering a diverse product mix.
Through an incubator program led by Love From USA, a certified disadvantaged business enterprise, the new retail space will highlight iconic New York brands such as Magnolia Bakery and Jacques Torres Chocolates alongside locally sourced products from across the city’s boroughs, including Baked by Noon granola, Johnnerdraws art, and Brooklyn Bites cookies.
“From beloved New York brands to exclusive products from local businesses, travelers can look forward to a vibrant shopping experience that captures the energy and creativity of our dynamic city,” said Jennifer Aument, CEO of New Terminal One.
The partnership underscores the PNYNJ’s commitment to diversity and local business participation in the $19 billion redevelopment of JFK. The IOC program, launched in 2023, provides training and mentoring to equip local businesses with the skills to successfully operate concessions at the airport.
“Our region is the front door to the country for millions of international visitors, so we want to be the first to show off the best of our hospitality upon arrival and ensure that energy stays with them through to departure,” said Port Authority Chairman Kevin O’Toole.
The retail spaces at New Terminal One are set to offer six unique concepts, with many operating 24/7, including the WHSmith Travel Essentials, The Canopy, The Queens Borough Market, Skybound by WHSmith, The Last Stop, and Las Artes Mercado. A business outreach event is scheduled for July 23rd to expand the local product supplier pipeline for the new terminal.
