Thu Jul 17 12:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Shaq Issues Stern Warning to RGIII: “Leave My Angel Reese Alone”

**Los Angeles, CA -** NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal has publicly threatened former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III, demanding he cease his criticism of WNBA star Angel Reese. O’Neal, a longtime supporter of Reese dating back to her LSU days, issued the forceful statement during an appearance on the “Off The Record” podcast.

O’Neal’s ire stems from Griffin’s recent tweet, in which he amplified a racist photo edit of Reese, claiming she harbors animosity towards fellow WNBA player Caitlin Clark. Griffin further alleged that individuals within Reese’s inner circle confirmed this animosity, a claim both Reese and her mother have vehemently denied, labeling Griffin a liar on social media.

“RGIII, tweet another monkey post about my girl Angel Reese and I’m gonna punch you in your f—–g face,” O’Neal stated plainly. “It’s enough. Like, I don’t usually do stuff like this but just stop it bro. You got your job, you got your podcast. Leave my Angel Reese alone.”

O’Neal went on to clarify that he advises Reese to ignore the controversy. He also dismissed Griffin’s claims of deep-seated hatred between Reese and Clark, attributing it to competitive spirit rather than genuine animosity. “It’s not real hate… This is sports. I’m not supposed to like you,” he explained.

Taking a further dig at Griffin, O’Neal suggested his legacy would be tarnished by the podcast-driven controversy. “It’s a shame that all the stuff you did in your life, you’re going to be remembered for your podcast…That should tell you you’re not that f—–g great.”

O’Neal, who considers himself Reese’s protector, has a close relationship with the young athlete, both being LSU alumni. He also played a role in recruiting Reese to Reebok. He emphasizes Reese’s positive character and attributes the criticism she receives to misunderstandings.

As of now, Griffin has not publicly responded to O’Neal’s threat. The situation remains a heated topic of discussion within the sports world.
