**New Delhi, July 17, 2025 (The Hindu) –** Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met with Union IT and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in New Delhi on Thursday to push for the approval of crucial infrastructure projects for the state. Accompanied by IT Minister Sridhar Babu and Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, the Chief Minister presented a comprehensive proposal, emphasizing the projects’ potential to boost connectivity, employment, and economic growth.

Key among the requests was expedited approval for the ₹8,000 crore Regional Ring Rail project, which aims to improve rural-urban connectivity and reduce congestion in Hyderabad’s main railway stations. The Chief Minister also advocated for a dedicated railway line connecting the Hyderabad Dry Port to Bandar Port, highlighting its importance for streamlining exports of pharmaceuticals, electronics, and food processing products from Telangana.

Specific railway line projects proposed included Vikarabad-Krishna (₹2,677 crore), Kalwakurti-Macharla (₹2,000 crore), Dornakal-Gadwala (₹6,512 crore), and Dornakal-Miryalguda (₹2,184 crore). The Chief Minister also reiterated the long-standing demand for a Kazipet Railway Division and new railway lines in backward areas, fully funded by the Railways.

Beyond railway infrastructure, Reddy urged the Union Minister to accelerate approvals for semiconductor manufacturing projects, including the Advanced System in Package Technologies (ASIP) project and the Micro LED Display Fab Project Crystal Matrix. He further requested the establishment of a high-tech electronics manufacturing park at Muchcherla, Rangareddy district, under the EMC 2.0 scheme, and proposed an electronics manufacturing park near the Regional Ring Road to strengthen the electronics ecosystem.

Several Members of Parliament from Telangana were present alongside senior officials, underscoring the importance of the meeting. The outcome of the discussions and the timeline for approvals remain to be seen.
