Thu Jul 17 13:26:09 UTC 2025: ## News Article: Centre Urges Telangana to Partner on ₹10,000 Crore Renewable Energy Projects
**Hyderabad, July 17, 2025:** Union Minister of Coal & Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, has called upon Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to collaborate on a large-scale renewable energy initiative projected to attract investments of ₹10,000 crore over the next three years.
In a formal communication released to the press on Thursday, Minister Reddy urged the Chief Minister to partner with Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) under his ministry, specifically Coal India Limited (CIL) and NLC India Limited (NLCIL), on the development of various renewable energy projects. These projects would include solar and wind power plants, Pumped Storage Projects (PSP), and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
The proposal outlines the development of solar power plants leveraging Telangana’s high solar irradiance, deployment of advanced BESS systems to enhance grid stability, and pre-feasibility studies for PSPs to provide critical balancing capacity. The Minister suggests joint ventures with State PSUs or standalone projects by coal companies to ensure faster execution and maximize local economic benefits.
Minister Reddy emphasized the crucial need for State Government support in acquiring or allocating land for these projects. He also highlighted the environmental benefits, including reduced carbon emissions, improved air quality, and sustainable natural resource management. Furthermore, the proposals promise substantial socio-economic benefits such as job creation, skill development, enhanced energy security, and affordable power access, driving inclusive growth and an improved quality of life.
The Minister requested a structured and seamless coordination between the State Government and the CPSUs to ensure swift and effective implementation. He emphasized that the Chief Minister’s “active and timely engagement” would be vital for the projects’ success.
“Your leadership in this matter can serve as a model for constructive Centre-State cooperation in building a greener and self-reliant future,” Minister Reddy stated.
He concluded by emphasizing that Telangana’s renewable energy potential, combined with the Central Government’s dedication to green growth, presents a significant opportunity to accelerate the State’s economic development and position it as a key contributor to India’s sustainable energy transition.
