**Hyderabad Paralyzed by Heavy Downpour, More Rain Forecasted**
**Hyderabad, July 17, 2025** – Several areas of Hyderabad were hit by a sudden and intense downpour this evening, bringing daily life to a standstill. Kukatpally, KPHB, Nizampet, Miyapur, Balanagar, Sanathnagar, Erragadda, Madapur, Hitech City, Kondapur, Serilingampally, Hakimpet, Cantonment, and Khairatabad are among the worst-affected areas, experiencing heavy rainfall that has severely disrupted traffic and daily routines.
Motorists are facing significant challenges as vehicles are stranded, causing widespread traffic congestion. Many individuals are seeking shelter under metro pillars to escape the heavy rain.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has issued an alert, urging officials to be vigilant and advising citizens to remain indoors until the rain subsides.
The Meteorological Department has forecasted continued heavy rainfall across Telangana for the next three days, from today (Thursday) through Saturday. The alert extends to districts including Hyderabad, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Medchal Malkajgiri, Mulugu, Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar, Sangareddy, Siddipet, Vikarabad, Nagarkurnool, Peddapalli, Rangareddy, Warangal, and Hanumakonda. Winds of up to 40 kilometers per hour are also expected in these areas.
