Thu Jul 17 14:10:00 UTC 2025: **Manchester United Pursue Mbeumo with £70 Million Bid**

Manchester, UK – Manchester United have launched a third bid for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, signaling their strong intent to bolster their attacking options. The offer, reportedly worth up to £70 million, consists of an initial £65 million plus £5 million in potential add-ons.

While Brentford has yet to formally respond to the offer, United are optimistic about securing the 25-year-old Cameroon international’s services before their pre-season tour of the US, which starts on Tuesday. New Manager Ruben Amorim is keen to have Mbeumo integrated into the squad in Chicago.

Mbeumo, who joined Brentford in 2019, enjoyed a stellar season, netting 20 Premier League goals. His performance has attracted interest from other clubs, including Tottenham, now managed by former Brentford boss Thomas Frank. However, Mbeumo reportedly favors a move to Old Trafford.

The potential arrival of Mbeumo follows the signings of forward Matheus Cunha and defender Diego Leon earlier in the transfer window. Should the deal materialize, it’s anticipated that Bruno Fernandes would transition to a deeper midfield role, allowing Cunha to occupy one of the inside forward positions in Amorim’s preferred system.

The addition of Mbeumo would likely further sideline Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Antony, who are currently out of the first-team picture.

With United looking to improve upon their lackluster 44-goal Premier League campaign from last season, Mbeumo’s goal-scoring prowess could provide a vital spark. The team will open their league season against Arsenal at Old Trafford on August 17. Brentford’s other main goal threat, striker Yoane Wissa, is the subject of interest from Newcastle.
