**O’Reilly Falsely Claims Epstein Convicted Under Biden, Prompting On-Air Correction**
Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly was fact-checked live on NewsNation Monday night after falsely claiming that Jeffrey Epstein was convicted under the Biden administration.
During an appearance, O’Reilly asserted that the disgraced financier was convicted under Attorney General Merrick Garland, who serves under President Biden. Host Leland Vittert quickly corrected O’Reilly, pointing out that Epstein was arrested and died by suicide in 2019, well before Biden took office.
O’Reilly initially doubled down, insisting Epstein was indicted under Garland, but Vittert repeatedly corrected him, emphasizing that the entire case occurred during the Trump administration.
The exchange occurred amidst renewed interest in the Epstein case following the release of DOJ documents which stated that there was no evidence was uncovered which could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties.
