**Heavyweight Showdown: Skenes vs. Skubal to Headline All-Star Game**
**Atlanta, GA** – Baseball fans are in for a treat as the 2025 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard will feature a pitching duel between two of the sport’s elite arms: Paul Skenes of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Tarik Skubal of the Detroit Tigers. The highly anticipated matchup will take place at Truist Park in Atlanta on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on FOX.
National League manager Dave Roberts has tapped Skenes, the Pirates’ young phenom, to start for the second consecutive year. Despite his recent arrival in the majors (May 11, 2024), the 23-year-old has quickly established himself as a dominant force. “It’s a huge honor,” Skenes said. “To be able to share a field with [the other All-Stars] is an awesome experience.” Last year’s NL Rookie of the Year is currently leading the league with a 2.01 ERA and 4.1 WAR.
On the American League side, Tarik Skubal will take the mound, adding another accolade to his already impressive resume. Coming off a unanimous Cy Young Award-winning season in 2024, Skubal has continued to excel, boasting a 2.23 ERA and 4.7 WAR through his first 19 starts. “I plan to have a ton of fun,” Skubal stated. “Any time you get to toe the rubber and the guys in the other box are the game’s best, it’s going to bring out the best in you.” This marks the first time a Tigers pitcher has started the All-Star Game since Max Scherzer in 2013.
Don’t miss this epic showdown between two of baseball’s brightest stars! Tune in to FOX on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET to witness Skenes and Skubal battle it out in the Midsummer Classic.
