**KOCHI, INDIA – July 16, 2025** – The Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF) unveiled the title and curatorial framework for the highly anticipated sixth edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale (KMB), set to run from December 12, 2025, to March 31, 2026. Titled “For the Time Being,” the biennale will be curated by artist Nikhil Chopra in collaboration with Goa-based HH Art Spaces.

Moving beyond the traditional art exhibition model, KMB ’25 envisions a “living ecosystem” that fosters dialogue and resource sharing between participating artists. The curatorial note emphasizes “friendship economies” as the core foundation of the exhibition, prioritizing process over a singular central event.

The 110-day event promises a diverse program encompassing talks, performances, workshops, and film screenings, unfolding across various sites in Kochi. Returning features include the Students’ Biennale, Invitations, Art By Children, the Residency Programme, and the Collateral.

KBF Chair V. Venu emphasized the Biennale’s growing international stature, attracting both established and emerging artists from around the world. He assured audiences of a “dynamic experience” for both art connoisseurs and the general public.

Bose Krishnamachari, president of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, highlighted Nikhil Chopra’s focus on durational exhibitions and performances as a key element of the upcoming edition. He anticipates an immersive experience for visitors, allowing them to engage with artists, fellow art enthusiasts, and the unique layered cultural life of Kochi, a city where global and local influences converge.
