**HYDERABAD, July 16, 2025 -** Quick action by the Hyderabad Fire Department saved five residents from a fire that engulfed a second-floor flat in Aijaz Residency, Moghalpura, early Wednesday morning.
The fire, which broke out at approximately 12:13 a.m., prompted a distress call to the fire control room. Two fire tenders and a firefighting robot were immediately dispatched to the scene, located just meters from the Moghalpura fire station.
Firefighters successfully rescued all five occupants of the apartment building, a G+4 structure. The rescued residents have been identified as Syed Abdul Kareem Sajid, 55, who is specially-abled; Atiya Begum, 47; Farheen Begum, 27; Syed Imam Jafar, 19; and Mohammed Rizwan Uddin, 38, a paralysis patient.
While all residents were evacuated safely, Additional District Fire Officer Bhanu Pratap confirmed that a Persian cat perished due to the intense heat.
