**Mysuru, July 15, 2025:** The Mysuru Zilla Panchayat is intensifying efforts to improve child health and strengthen disease control across the district. At a district-level review meeting held today, Chief Executive Officer S. Yukesh Kumar directed officials to bolster the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) and ensure enhanced medical care for children attending Anganwadis and schools who are experiencing health problems.
Kumar emphasized the need for regular health screenings to identify diseases early and provide prompt treatment. “Children with heart ailments must be provided with specialized treatment and surgeries at superspecialty hospitals to help reduce infant mortality,” he stated. He also insisted on rigorous follow-up to ensure treatment completion for referred children.
In addition, Kumar called for accountability in cases of maternal and infant deaths, urging necessary action based on reports from the district-level technical expert committee to identify and address any lapses in care.
The CEO further instructed officials to achieve 100% targets under the Kayakalpa scheme for the financial year 2025-26 and mandated that all health centers reach 100% progress within the next three months.
He also stressed strict adherence to biomedical waste disposal guidelines at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. Vigilance regarding communicable diseases was a key point, with Kumar directing mandatory reviews and appropriate action for cases of Covid-19, Influenza H1N1, dog bites, and snake bites. Further directives included reducing the TB death rate to below 5%, expediting leprosy surveys, and reporting all suspected cases immediately. Manochaitanya counselling centers were instructed to operate every Tuesday, with documented activities.
