**BRS Leader Slams Telangana Govt. Over Student Deaths in Residential Schools**

**Hyderabad, July 15, 2025** – K.T. Rama Rao, working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has launched a scathing attack on the Telangana government over the rising number of food poisoning incidents and student fatalities in Gurukula residential educational institutions across the state.

Rama Rao stated that over the past 20 months, more than a thousand food poisoning cases have been reported in these institutions, affecting thousands of students and tragically leading to the deaths of over 100. He attributed these incidents to “criminal negligence” on the part of the state government, particularly Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who also oversees the Education portfolio.

“If such incidents happen once or twice, they may be considered accidental, but when over a thousand incidents occur and children are falling like birds, the government is still in deep slumber,” Rama Rao said in a statement released today.

The BRS leader criticized Reddy for allegedly failing to conduct even a single review meeting to address the situation, despite the recurring incidents and heartbreaking consequences. He called this a “glaring example of inhuman rule.”

Rama Rao demanded that Reddy take full responsibility for the food poisoning incidents and student deaths. Referencing a past statement by the Chief Minister asking who should be held accountable for student deaths, Rama Rao challenged Reddy to take the issue seriously, emphasizing that the BRS had repeatedly brought the issue to the government’s attention, but to no avail. He appealed to Reddy to address the matter “as a father, if not as the Chief Minister.”

The Telangana government has yet to respond to Rama Rao’s accusations. The BRS has vowed to continue pressing the government to take immediate action to improve the safety and well-being of students in residential schools.
