**Mumbai, [Date]** – The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of Dheeraj Kumar, a renowned Bollywood and television actor, producer, and director. He passed away at the age of 79 due to complications from acute pneumonia.

Kumar was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Tuesday morning after his condition deteriorated. Despite being placed on ventilator support in the ICU, doctors were unable to save him.

His family confirmed the news, requesting privacy during this difficult time. Just recently, Kumar was seen attending the inauguration of the ISKCON temple in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, where he praised Prime Minister Modi’s efforts in promoting Sanatan Dharma.

The Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) expressed their condolences on X, stating, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Shri Dheeraj Kumar Ji. Dheeraj Kumar began his career in the entertainment industry in 1965, as a finalist on a talent show alongside notable figures like Subhash Ghai and Rajesh Khanna. Khanna ultimately won the show. From 1970 to 1984, Kumar showcased his acting prowess in 21 Punjabi films. He then transitioned to Bollywood, appearing in movies such as “Heera Panna,” “Raaton Ka Raja,” “Sargam,” and “Roti Kapda Aur Makaan.”

Besides his film work, Kumar also made a significant impact on television, creating and starring in popular shows like “Om Namah Shivay,” “Kaha Gaye Woh Log,” “Adalat,” and “Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam.” He also founded the production company “Creative Eye,” where he served as Chairman and Managing Director.
