**Rams Eye Potential Free Agent Target: 49ers’ Jauan Jennings**
**Los Angeles, CA** – As the Los Angeles Rams prepare for upcoming contract negotiations and roster adjustments, one name from a division rival is emerging as a potential target: San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings. According to a recent report from Sports Illustrated’s Brock Vierra, the 49ers may be unable to retain Jennings after the 2025 season due to financial constraints.
“2025 is the last year Jauan Jennings is playing for the 49ers,” Vierra stated. “There’s just no way he is going to come back given his value, especially if he duplicates what he did last year in 2025. The 49ers cannot afford Jennings after this year, and free agency will only increase his cost.”
Vierra notes that with quarterback Brock Purdy’s contract extension looming and the investment already made in Brandon Aiyuk, Jennings may become a luxury the 49ers cannot afford. The 49ers may also consider Jennings “disposable” with the drafting of Ricky Pearsall and the potential re-signing of Demarcus Robinson.
While Jennings has been a headache for the Rams in the past, Vierra suggests he would be a perfect fit as the team’s WR3, providing a reliable and versatile option for the offense. He also raises the possibility that Jennings could take on a WR2 role if Davante Adams leaves after 2026.
“Jennings would fit perfectly as the Rams’ WR3. A sure-handed, selfless player ready to do whatever it takes to win, who could easily slip into the WR2 role if Davante Adams leaves after 2026,” Vierra said.
Adding fuel to the fire, Jennings has a strong track record at SoFi Stadium, with 21 receptions on 24 targets in four career games.
Vierra acknowledges that Jennings’ loyalty to the 49ers and potential hesitations about joining a division rival could be factors. However, he ultimately believes that financial incentives may play a significant role in Jennings’ decision.
“Jennings may be looking for the ultimate pay day and his loyalties to the 49ers may make him hesitant from joining the Rams but at the end of the day, players are most loyal to their money so take that as you will.”
The Rams’ front office will undoubtedly be closely monitoring Jennings’ situation as the 2025 season progresses, evaluating whether to make a serious push for the receiver in free agency.
