**Badminton Power Couple Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap Announce Separation**

**NEW DELHI, [Date of Release – Today’s Date]:** Indian badminton stars Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap have announced their separation after nearly seven years of marriage. Nehwal revealed the news in an emotional Instagram post on Sunday, sending ripples through the sports community and beyond.

The couple, whose relationship began on the badminton court over a decade ago, tied the knot in a private ceremony on December 14, 2018. Their partnership was unique in the sports world, with Kashyap transitioning from fellow player to Nehwal’s coach, symbolizing their deep trust and mutual respect. Kashyap’s coaching role, especially after 2016 when Nehwal faced increasing injuries, was instrumental in supporting her career. A notable highlight was in 2019 when Nehwal, under Kashyap’s guidance, defeated PV Sindhu at the National Championships.

In her Instagram post, Nehwal stated, “Life takes us in different directions sometimes. After much thought and consideration, Kashyap Parupalli and I have decided to part ways. We’re choosing peace, growth, and healing – for ourselves and each other. I’m grateful for the memories and wish nothing but the best moving forward. Thank you for understanding and respecting our privacy during this time.”

Saina Nehwal has been one of the most decorated badminton players in Indian history. Her accomplishments include becoming the first Indian badminton player to win an Olympic medal (bronze at the 2012 London Olympics). She also secured two World Championship medals (one gold and one silver), three Commonwealth Games gold medals, and two Asian Games bronze medals. In 2015, she became the first Indian woman to achieve the world no. 1 ranking in badminton.

Parupalli Kashyap is a highly accomplished former badminton player, who achieved a career-high world ranking of 6. He won the men’s singles gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and a bronze in the 2010 Delhi edition. He transitioned into coaching after retiring from competitive play.

Both Nehwal and Kashyap have requested privacy during this transition. The sporting world will be watching to see what their individual futures hold as they embark on this new chapter.
