**New York Times Launches Sports-Themed “Connections” Game; Hints and Answers for July 13th Edition Released**

NEW YORK, NY – July 13, 2025 – The New York Times, in partnership with The Athletic, has released a new sports-themed version of its popular “Connections” word puzzle. Following the success of Wordle, Strands, and the Mini Crossword, “Connections Sports Edition” challenges players to group 16 sports-related words into four categories of four.

Each day, a new puzzle is released at 12 a.m. EST. Today’s categories were:

* **Yellow:** Things golfers don’t want
* **Blue:** Related to the capital of California
* **Green:** Sacramento Kings Greats
* **Purple:** Free ____
