**’Today’ Show Family Rallying Around Sheinelle Jones After Husband’s Death**
Lake Tahoe, NV – The “Today” show family is providing unwavering support to co-host Sheinelle Jones as she grieves the loss of her husband, Uche Ojeh. Ojeh passed away in May after a battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, as announced on the show by Savannah Guthrie.
Fellow “Today” show co-host Dylan Dreyer, speaking from the 2025 American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament, emphasized that Jones is currently focused on her three young children – Kayin, and twins Clara and Uche Jr. “She’s in mom mode right now,” Dreyer told Access Hollywood. “It’s a really tough time for the family.”
Dreyer assured viewers that the entire “Today” team is standing by Jones. “We are all there to support her in any way we can,” she said. “She’s just taking the time she needs to spend with those kids. I can’t even imagine what they’re going through, what she’s going through, and she’s just being strong for them.”
The closeness of the “Today” show cast was further highlighted by Dreyer, who described it as a true family. She cited examples of their constant communication and support, even mentioning handwritten letters from Al Roker.
Jones has been absent from “Today” since December 2024, initially citing a “family health matter” on Instagram. Following the announcement of Ojeh’s passing, Guthrie delivered an emotional tribute on air, expressing the deep sorrow felt by the entire team.
Dreyer also shared a heartfelt Instagram post featuring a photo of Jones and Ojeh embracing, expressing her wish to ease her friend’s pain and acknowledging the couple’s love and joy. Jones acknowledged the outpouring of support via Instagram by sharing a clip of the on-air tributes.
A return date for Jones to “Today” has not yet been announced.
