Sun Jul 13 14:50:59 UTC 2025: **Marquez Dominates German MotoGP Amidst Carnage**

**Sachsenring, Germany** – Marc Marquez cemented his reign as the “King of the Sachsenring” with a dominant lights-to-flag victory at the German Grand Prix. The Ducati rider, celebrating his 200th MotoGP start, secured his ninth MotoGP win at the circuit in a race plagued by crashes, with only 10 of the 18 starters making it to the finish line.

Marquez’s victory extends his championship lead over his brother, Alex Marquez, who finished second, to a commanding 83 points. Francesco Bagnaia, Marc’s teammate, completed the podium, sitting 147 points adrift in the championship standings.

The race was marred by numerous incidents, particularly at the notorious turn one. Early contenders Fabio Di Giannantonio (VR46 Racing) and Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia) both crashed out while in second place, paving the way for Alex Marquez to claim the runner-up spot despite recovering from a recent hand injury. Other notable retirements included Pedro Acosta, Lorenzo Savadori, and Miguel Oliveira. A later incident saw Ai Ogura (Trackhouse Racing) take out Joan Mir (Honda), further thinning the field.

Despite the chaos, Marquez remained unphased, dictating the pace and building a comfortable lead. “From the beginning, I felt good,” Marquez said, celebrating his fourth consecutive weekend sweep of both the sprint and the main race. He added, “We are in an incredible moment. Now we can say that half the season is done. Now [the second] half we still need to be super concentrated.”

Alex Marquez, starting from fifth, put in a strong performance to secure second in his 100th MotoGP start. Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) finished fourth, followed by Fermin Aldeguer, Alex Marquez’s Gresini Racing teammate, completing the top five.
